Children, Youth & Family Ministries
Just before Christmas I was at a party when someone I didn’t know asked me about my connection to the hosts. “I used to go to church with them,” I told him. “Used to go?” he asked. I explained: “I work in a church now – All Saints in Brookline – so I’ve left St. Andrew’s, Wellesley.” He replied, “My wife and I just moved into an apartment on Tappan Street. I know your church!” “Stop by for a visit sometime,” I said. “Come on a Saturday or Sunday. You won’t be disappointed.”
I have no idea whether I’ll ever see this man and his wife at All Saints, but I hope we do because I want him to really know our church, not just that it’s located on the corner of Beacon Street and Dean Road. I want him to discover the richness of our worship services, the energy of our children, the way we care for people both within our walls and beyond them. I think our church could change this man’s life. I honestly do.
Don’t be afraid to brag about All Saints Parish to others. Don’t let our New England propriety keep you from inviting someone into our community of faith. We are a healthy and vital congregation seeking to engage God’s mission both in the church and beyond it. This work is too precious to keep to ourselves!
Who do you know who needs to be invited into fellowship with Jesus? Extend the invitation: “Come and see.” Go on. You can do it!
